This one-day course is a food handling, sanitation and work safety course.  It covers important food and worker safety information including receiving and storing food, preparing and serving food, cleaning and sanitizing.


Red Cross Emergency First Aid & CPR

Maximum class size:  12 participants


This 8 hour course is for anyone wishing to work as a Level 1 first aid attendant in BC or as an emergency first-aider in British Columbia. Topics covered include emergency scene management, shock/unconscious/fainting, choking, cardiovascular emergencies, one-rescuer CPR, severe bleeding, medical conditions, and child/infant resuscitation.  Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your ID.  Certificate issued upon successful completion.

This 6 hour course is designed for persons who have ‘a duty to respond’ and for others who may need to perform CPR on an emergency basis to adults, children and infants.  Lesson topics are presented through a variety of instructor-lead activities, DVD’s, review, and skill practice sessions.  Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your ID.  Upon successful completion, candidates will be issued a national St. John Ambulance certificate.


WHMIS – Workplace Hazardous Material Information System

People wishing to have WHMIS on their resume can come to the WHY and take this on-line course.

WHMIS is health and safety training, and is a federal regulation applying everywhere in Canada.  This course has been designed to meet and exceed the Federal Hazardous Products Act and follow controlled products regulations for any employee working with controlled products.  By completing this course you will become compliant with the federal regulations and improve your knowledge of an important system in workplace safety.



Transportation of Dangerous Goods

This course covers all aspects of the TDG system, aimed primarily at ensuring students will have a clear understanding of the requirements. A TDG certificate is valid for three years. TDG certificates are not transferable. Please call to book.
